I have never given iTunes a bad review, but the issues with the SoundCheck function have been giving me real problems. A lot of people have the same problem with SoundCheck doing crazy clipping and volume adjustments. If you listen to any music that is "lo-fi" the volume jumps all over the place. The feature worked fine in iTunes 3 though. This has made the software orderline unusable for me.

The biggest problem is still here - Stormchild

My experience differs; the Sound Check and Sound Enhancer features in iTunes 3 caused plenty of clipping problems, which I had to fix by leaving the EQ on and turning down the pre-amp a notch. These features no longer cause clipping problems in iTunes 4, in my experience. I am pretty well convinced it's because they realized the same thing I did and simply reduced the overall output level of the software to give the DSP algorithms some headroom, which stops the clipping.
