maybe you can extend the program to where it can auto guide telescopes for astrophotography. As far as I can tell there are no OS X programs that do this. this would open up new possibilities on the Mac.

Starry Night is expensive and doesn't really autoguide per se. Though it has scope control, that's not its strong suit. PHD Guiding is free from Stark Labs.
