Overnet nodes?

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: One Week

Seriously, the documentation to this program completely sucks. When I finally got it up running it seems to work quite well but until then I was very frustrated with the docs not being synchronized with the distribution.

Downloading the most recent dmg is not enough, you have to download the 2.04-image from the site as well because in neither the rc4 or rc6-images the actual binary is included - whatever the docs say.

Furthermore, the only new things in the RC4 and RC6 updates seems to be internationlization, some not necessary X11-apps (like GUI-stuff) and some ini-files.

At least the GUI-stuff is unecessary, the best interface to the app is the built in web server. Just point your browser to http://127.0.0.1:4080/ and ignore the other interfaces.

Finally, the donkey-network works fine for me but I am unable to connect to any Overnet-servers. I have clicked the Load ONet peers, which return the message Loading http://members.lycos.co.uk/appbyhp2/FlockHelpApp/contact-files/contact.ocl web boot started but when I click Connected server or View all servers only Donkey-servers are listed.

I have also tried to manually add servers from the list at http://members.lycos.co.uk/appbyhp2/connect2.php by copying the command column and entering it in the command field in the upper right corner in the web interface, to no avail. And the #betatest channel at irc.liquidirc.com is dead. Any suggestions on Overnet-nodes to add?

Overnet nodes? - Nolendil

You don't see OverNet nodes in the list of servers as OverNet is not a server-based protocol. You can check how many nodes you now in Client Stats or in OverNet Stats.
