whatismyip.com requires you…

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Unspecified

whatismyip.com requires you to load up a web address and wait for it to not only load but also poll your machine. IP gives you this info from a handy menu, plus gives you your LAN address which is handy for me...something whatismyip.com doesn't do...and IP also makes it easier to copy the IP to the clipboard.

hmm. - plaintiger

i don't know about your setup, but the process of whatismyip.com loading and polling *my* machine takes less than one second. and what's easier than double-clicking your IP address at the top of a web page and hitting Command-C (which also takes less than one second)? the only argument of yours that i can concede is if it's useful to you to know your LAN address. it's true that whatismyip.com doesn't do that.
