Reminds me a little of the old Chooser extension called Broadcast. Anyone else here remember that? That was the way to communicate on Drexel University's Ethernet network back in 1994. "Marathon game starting in Kelly 6 appletalk zone!" :-)

Yes! Broadcast ruled at Franklin and Marshall... The icons, the ability to bother a whole dorm in just a few minutes, the pointless trolling and arguments... All well before AIM was the way of life (though things sure changed quickly from 1996 - 2000). I haven't tried this software here, but it looks like it falls short of Broadcast in needing explicit server and client apps--Broadcast was everything in one. And it was an extension that appeared in your Chooser that functioned like an application and it refused to be broken by System updates. It took OS X to kill it. Ah, this takes me back....
