sjk, could you tell me your concern with the VISE installer? I use VISE rather than Apple's PackageMaker because Apple's 10.2 installer doesn't work on old OS X systems. After sooloo's comment I changed the distribution so it includes the files separately in case you want to install them yourself. With regard to the install location, I don't know of a better alternative. The only directories on the default path are /bin, /usr/bin, /sbin, and /usr/sbin.
