if you have mac os x don't bother with this weak product..gnucash (www.gnucash.org) is an X11 Unix app which runs on mac os x once downloaded and compiled on apple's x11 software. gnucash is not only fast, mature and easy to use, it is also free!!!!

You're Kidding, Right? - psandiford

The average Mac user will do something like the following to use gnucash; spend 10 minutes to figure out which version to download, download a X11, download Fink, download FinkCommander, fail in "compiling" gnucash. Boy, that's a fun 2 hours and in the end you will have 3 system altering programs creeping around your system. Oh ya, gnucash still won't be working so you'll still try icash.

Yes your instructions are really quick and easy. Sorry, but I'm not accustomed to having to build my apps from source, satisfy dependencies, run an X11 environment, all so I can run a finance program that looks like Windows 3.1. This is why open source will always fail. Tech people for the most part have zero concept of usability. Open source is great for servers, compilers, etc... not for apps. Not until the freaks who write this garbage get a clue about usability.

Right. Have you ever heard of Darwin? I'll give you a hint--it's open source, and it IS Mac OS X. Perhaps you've heard of Mozilla/Firefox? Or maybe you've heard of just about every other major feature of OS X? All open source, baby.

In other words, you can thank all the "freaks" for writing all the cool software that you're using unknowingly, and then thank Apple for making it easy enough for someone like you to use it.
