Boy, I wish I had a penny for every idiot who criticizes software because it's made using RealBasic or is not free! I've used, and beta-tested, most of the available screen rulers for pre-OS X and OS X systems. The only negative thing about this app is its name. Other than that, it is an extremely powerful, diverse, user-friendly, and stable platform for graphic artists, web designers, and scientists (such as myself). The developer is VERY responsive, which is a major plus.
