Many people use the term "sound sculpting" to describe the processes involved with producing music on computers. Melodyne allows one do this almost literally, with a level of comfort and control that is unprecendented. This upgrade addresses all the criticisms I've read here so far. There is now a significantly cheaper version for project studios. (CRE8); so Melodyne is affordable too.
