Lisa4ever - if you leave or reinstall HP Director, it will have one or two advantages - such as warning when ink is low, and allowing scanning. So, despite its further weighing on system resources, I have actually not got rid of the HP bloatware, retaining it for all the non-printing stuff, but Gimp-print is the default print driver.
