I'm the developer...this script is intended for users of the AudioTron MP3 player who use their Mac as a file server. The M3U playlist format is used by the AudioTron and other MP3 players. I have heard from a few people using this for other players, but have no personal experience with those. I know of no good way to import an M3U playlist into iTunes.
