The time of the SCSI interface is over. This problem is not only with scanners but also with other peripherals using this interface. It is too slow and does not meet the speed of USB and firewire. There is even less incentive for card manufacturers to write drivers for these as no new computers offer anything but firewire, USB, ethernet and wireless. There may be an adaptor to connect a SCSI to a USB cable and try that method. I don't know if such a thing exists.
