After installing Gimp 4.2.4 (using its DeskJet 812c driver) I find it hard to believe I ever bothered with HP's own slow, and ridiculous, bloatware drivers. C'mon HP - rise to the challenge and show those open-source unix geeks what a multinational powerhouse is really capable of. (Or, for starters, never write another driver which has to poll the printer every two seconds, takes days to print a page, and dies after the Mac's been to sleep.) Since my G85 is 99% printer, 1% useful extra bits and bobs, it's bye-bye HP Director, and good riddance.
