An easy way to remove files that will not delete on OSX is my method which I figured out after frustratingly trying to dump a file from which I got the message that it is in use ...I use stuffit and in the preferences I ask that the original be deleted...IT DOES IT! I then dump the sit file as well and that is that...try it and tell me if you have the same luck as I... Do not ask me why Stuffit does the trick in the delete preferences but it did it for me every time I tried it.
