I just ordered the upgrade to 2.0, just before the MacWorld. I can't, for me, justify the expense of Pshop 7.0, not doing this commercially. Most of the Photoshopalikes for the consumer are lame, as was that PhotoDeluxe monstrosity -- the average Joe doesn't need all the complexities, but that "let us smart people solve that for you and don't you trouble your pretty little head" approach was lethal. I'd look at the simplified menus and the simplified formats for output, and think, "This is as stupid as 'Dave' was". Now, I like the Adobe pedigree for imaging, but don't need the expense of all those other features I wouldn't use. I hope they've further streamlined the interface on 2.0., but it will be Carbon-based, so the main result will be the disappearance of Classic mode off my machine except for scanning. I presume that TWAIN will finally be natively supported on X starting with Jaguar, so then -- what would I need 9 (or IX) for?
