It is clear to me that Epson is simply interested in selling ink. the machines are relatively cheap for the most part but once one owns the hardware, the smiling stranger is more than glad to supply the habit. Why bother making drivers for old machines, they surmise, since the quality of the new machines is so much better, you will dump the old ones, buy another chunk of plastic and metal and buy those new inks. Epson can then stop making the older inks, cut inventory and so forth...Oh no! That is not what they do...they jack up the price of the old inks instead to make them really profitable so either you pay the big bucks, buy the new hardware and suffer. It is the world of capitalism and if one does not like it..go back to a 9 pin printer that uses a ribbon! I have a couple of antiquated printers and cannot figure out what to do with them. OSX drivers for them? ha. When hell freezzes over...
