I've never been able to figure out why scanners come with such horrible drivers and software. But, VueScan makes up for it. Hamrick has been able to achieve what large corporations such as Canon and Umax can't, OSX support for devices that are only 9 months old, and do it better than those companies could have in the first place. If a scanner isn't on VueScan's supported list, I won't buy it.
