It's pretty much confirmed that the Scanner Finder app is useless in 10.2.x and doesn't work at all in 10.3 (need to force quit). The real question is, can you scan with ScanWizard Pro? Are there confirmed reports that the actual scanning software works? If you check Microtek's ftp servers carefully, ScanWizard 5 v7.11 is out.

Same for me. Dowloaded v 7.11 three times but 'validation failed'. So my Microtek scanner is useless. Sad, the 4800 scanner is great: pity about the software. I wouldn't get another Mirotek.Saturday, November 08 2003 @ 05:21 AM PST

I had the same problem, running ScanWizard under MacOS 10.3.2 on a 1Ghz PowerBook.Deleteing some of the drivers I don't need helped.
My scanner is a SM-4800 model and dumping some of the other drivers made ScanWizard start running again.
The drivers are in Library/Application Support/Scanwizard 5 v7/Support Bundles/Scanner_Drivers.
