As someone who makes a living recommending and supporting hardware, I would never choose a device I thought wouldn't perform properly. I'll lose a sale before I stoop to recommend ATTO or Initio cards. I have installed perhaps 100 Adaptec cards in my clients' machines with not one failure, not difficulties with multiple devices. The 2906 is an incredible device for the price and Adaptec's support is indeed world-class. People like 128k Mac should remember that this is the place to address the quality of the update, not the hardware. If you have a hardware issue, then take it to Adaptec's support group and talk about it there! SoftRAID is a cheap and sloppy emulation of the real hardware and finally, I have never used Silverlining with an Adaptec card. Would you put diesel fuel in a Porsche?
