Tern, I am not so sure that is true. I have a FAST computer, a 450 MHz cube. I encode at 2.1x. Two other cubes that I have used that let me apply the update encode at 8x speed. Also this update says: This update improves the audio extraction performance of your DVD-ROM drive."
