I have never found another program that matches the sheer elegance and usability of Alias Menu. I wish I could give it 10 stars! I cannot understand why Apple does not license it to replace their Launcher as its pull down menus are infinitely superior to buttons and Alias Menu is so much more than just a launcher. I have been using Alias Menu ever since I got my first Mac, a IIci w/System 7, in 1991. I have refused to install any system updates until I was certain they would work with Alias Menu. As much as I want protected memory, etc.I will not upgrade to OS X unless it will allow me to continue to work with Alias Menu. Combining Alias Menu with BeHierarchic and Default Folder was a stroke of genius.
