Presto! Page Manager 2.31.05 came packaged with my UMax Astre 2100U scanner. It freezes my Mac G4 every time we try to use it. As far as we can tell, it is a useless piece of trash!

"Trash" seems a little harsh. My iMac (1999 vintage) came with PageManager 2.31.05 bundled on it and this has worked fine until now. Recently I had to replace the hard drive and since then, when I've tried to open the Astra 2200 scanner via PageManager I get an error "Plugin error at preparation". I can still use the scanner via Train acquire in PhotoShop, but that only lets me scan pictures, now text characters, Any ideas, anyone?Thursday, July 20 2006 @ 02:49 AM PDT

"Trash" seems a little harsh. My iMac (bought in summer 1999 and still going, albeit slowly) came with PageManager 2.31.05 bundled, and it has worked fine until now. Recently I had a hard disk fail on me, and had a replacement installed. Fortunately the people who did it were able to retrive an image of all my data from the old disk and load it on the new one. However, since then, when I've gone into PageManager and tried to activate the scanner I get an error "Plugin error at preparation". I can still use the scanner (Astra 2200) via Twain aquire from PhotoShop, but that doesn't let me scan text. Any ideas on what I need to do to get PageManager working again?Reply to This
