If you're going to go to XP, dont' buy the home edition. It is feature-poor compared to the Pro edition. Most people I know who just bought PC's over the past month that came with Home Edition immedately went out and got Pro. Personally, I prefer Win2k, but you can't play directx/3d games on Win2k.
