Product Description:

Backup Platinum is an easy-to-use yet powerful backup program designed for Microsoft Windows. It makes a reserve copy of your critical data virtually to any type of storage media: hard or USB drives, CD-R/W, DVD, FTP or LAN. Strong file encryption and multichoice ZIP compression on the fly are available to keep your backups small and secure. It can run in service mode under NT/2000/XP/2003 to execute scheduled tasks even when nobody is logged in.

What's new in this version:

Backup to self-restorable executable files;
Option to specify alternative destination for backup;
Additional criteria to filter files by creation and modification date;
Ability to specify include/exclude masks for synchronization items;
Ability to divide backup archive to several volumes with specified size;
Option to exclude empty folders from backup;
Option to add file or folder to an existing backup item from Windows Explorer;
Ability to include/exclude subtrees of registry keys as usual folders;
Validity check for saved backup data.
Safe write option to remove the previous backup only after saving a new one;
Option to hide program icon in the system tray;
Ability to execute items from the right click menu on system tray icon;
Option to shutdown, logoff or hibernate after backup completion.

We have been experiencing problems with Backup Platinum connecting to our server for nightly backups. We email technical support several times, received a response or two in the beginning, but now all communication with the company has stopped for some inexplicable reason.

We have since sent several emails which have gone completely ignored.

The product works fine to an external hard drive, a second hard drive, to a folder on one hard drive, but it does not work properly to a server. Further, technical support seems to be absent, which is disappointing for a piece of software that costs $69.
