Product Description:

You have responsibilities to your family, your workplace or school, your kid's sports and social activities, your community all competing for your valuable attention. Today's frenetic lifestyles can leave you feeling depleted and listless.

Even in this fast paced modern life, you can rediscover spare time to explore your own projects and aspirations. You can channel your energy and effort effectively to reach for life long goals, and make time to have some well deserved fun along the way.

Life Balance is award winning coaching software that provides a dynamically ordered To Do List driven by the importance of your goals, your desired allocation of time and effort, and feedback from what you get done each day. Life Balance helps you to set priorities and increase personal productivity in a very new way. Items on a to-do list can have a high priority for different reasons: because they are part of an important project, because the deadline is near-at-hand, because you are in the right place to take action, or because you have been neglecting the task.

Internally, Life Balance uses fuzzy logic math techniques to balance all these competing factors. As a result, it can provide you with an easy to use, sorted list that makes it simple to figure out what is the most important thing that you can do right here, right now.

Includes Life Balance Conduit for easy data entry to the Palm Mobile Edition (sold separately). You can do your strategizing and planning on the desktop, where data entry is easier, and then deploy and update your plans on your Palm OS device.

Feature Highlights:

  • Dynamic To Do List keeps important tasks sorted towards the top.
  • Feedback from the Balance section increases the priority of tasks that you have been neglecting.
  • Easy Drag and Drop scheduling for posting tasks to the Life Balance Calendar.
  • Flexible scheduling supports traditional calendar entries, or more loosely defined "Routine" patterns.
  • Automatic Update reorders your To Do List as you check off tasks.
  • Assign tasks to places with hours when they are open for business.
  • Support for included places simplifies errands.
  • Multiple level Undo and Redo.
  • Includes Life Balance Conduit for easy data entry to the Palm Mobile Edition (sold separately).
  • Reconciliation interface for the conduit gives you control over what changes to keep from the Handheld or the Desktop.

....and much more!

What's new in this version:

Note: This is an automatic free upgrade for users with existing Windows 3.x license codes. v 3.2.1 fixes the following bugs in v 3.2:
  • Fixed the exchange file output format for tasks with zero leadtime.
  • Added a note to the sample data about new Routinely tasks starting out "overdue".
  • Fixed a bug which was causing the insert of exchange files to fail midway through with large files.
  • Modified the conduit so that the desktop file would load after loading the Palm data to increase reliability.
v 3.2 contained the following new features:
  • Life Balance now supports opening, inserting and saving exchange (.lbe) files. An exchange file is a special format intended for sharing among Life Balance customers. Use it for creating project templates, starter files and examples to share with your family, clients, coworkers and friends.
  • New sample data has been generated for Life Balance on the desktop. The new data highlights more features and includes extensive notes to document these features.
  • Added an Autosave feature. AutoSave happens automatically every five minutes. If Life Balance crashes, on the next startup it detects any autosave files that were left behind and offers to restore them.
  • Added a basic Find/Find Again capability.
  • Newly revised PDF documentation is now included.
  • Added time display to calendar events.
  • Color has been added to calendar events to make it easier to match related events to tasks.
  • "Today" is highlighted in the Calendar.
  • Events with no time set now sort to the top of the event list.
  • Clicking the Event Proxy icon in the Event details now updates the visible Calendar page so that the selected event is visible.
  • Clicking on the Task Proxy icon now makes the task visible in the visible task list rather than just in the Outline.
  • Text for the date display for routinely tasks past the due date changed from "oops" to "overdue".
  • The collapse and expand state of tasks in the Outline is now saved and restored when opening files.
  • Online help has been updated to match the PDF documentation.
  • The HotSync progress dialog now says Life Balance Done at the end.
  • Balance preferences now sync.
  • Desktop overwrites Handheld sync now preserves DateBook record categories and alarms.
  • Double-clicking a day in the Calendar month or week view will open the corresponding day view.

Life Balance ReviewLife Balance Rocks! - Version: 3.2.1, 10/14/2003 10:39AM PST

dhammala
Life Balance is G R E A T !
It is not often that you come across a software program that blends so well into your daily life. Life Balance has not only blended in, it has helped shape my life in becoming more productive and efficient!
I have always been bad at prioritizing the tasks on my never-ending to do list. I bought a Palm years ago to help get my life organized, but I found that it was more effort to use it then the post-it notes all over my desk and monitor. The phone book, that was great, the games too! But the to do and calendar just never made it over into daily habit.
Until I found Life Balance. It makes it very easy to add in tasks and things I need to get done – for work, around the house, my self, friends, everything. It makes it even easier to prioritize.. in fact I have never seen a system like this! All you have to do is say how important something is. You can even schedule events that need to happen BY a certain date/time or ON a certain date/time and be reminded that the deadline is coming up. It’s great! The best part is that I don’t have to think about what I need to be doing RIGHT NOW. Silly, but that is where I would always go wrong, again with my prioritizing. Life Balance is so cool, I just hit my To Do button my Palm and Life Balance TELLS ME what to do next! I love it! It couldn’t be easier. (Of course I have the option of doing what I want to do next, and Life Balance can handle that too.)
The best part is the effect it has had on my personal life. I have not had the time or the ability to create time for my friends and social life because I have been swamped with work and too stressed to prioritize well. My friends call up and complain that I never see them or talk to them on the phone any more, etc. It has been really depressing to me and I have not known what to do about it. Life Balance saved the day! I put in things like ‘Call Monica’ or ‘Dinner with Eric’ and Life Balance shows me quickly how well I am balancing out my time and reminding me to take time to spend with my friends and such. It rocks!
The new desktop version makes it even easier to enter in information and things on the list to do. 10 stars!
