Product Description:

WinPatrol and Scotty the Windows Watch Dog will expose worms, trojan horses, cookies, adware, spyware and other malicioius programs. WinPatrol's goal is to help you better understand what programs are running on your computer, and alert you to any new programs that might be added without your permission. WinPatrol will ask you to confirm any new programs which have been set up to always run when you start your computer.You won't find a lot of fancy graphics or animations in WinPatrol. We've optimized the program to be as small as possible so it can be used constantly without interfering with the speed or memory of other programs

What's new in this version:

No longer automatically loads IE if Windows reports an error trying to load Firefox.
Modified GetVersion and Upgrade buttons to allow for special versions for partners.
Cleaned up GetPLUSInfo data to prevent buffer overflow errors.
Trimmed extraneous spaces in reg code caused by copy/pasting the PLUS code.
Added Option to use original Scotty system trayicon

Happy to say that this program does a lot more than I thought it would and even a neolithic man like me can use it. Within 20 minutes of installation it had removed a load of crap programs from my start up (both malicious and defunct) improving my PC performance along the way. Great stuff and wish I'd had it 6 months ago.

This program is for maybe more advanced users...it lets you choose which things looks supicious and disable them...for me, this is not ideal because I need a program to TELL me what is suspicious and what is malware or spyware. I guess if you know exactly waht you are doing, it could be helpful.
