Product Description:

IGOR Pro is an interactive environment for experimentation with scientific and engineering data and for the production of publication-quality graphs and page layouts. Features include:

IGOR Pro produces journal-quality scientific graphs.
IGOR Pro handles large data sets very quickly.
IGOR Pro includes a wide range of capabilities for analysis and graphing.
IGOR Pro has special support for time-series or other evenly-spaced data.
IGOR Pro imports data in many formats, and acquires data from GPIB and the serial port.
IGOR Pro is completely programmable via a built-in programming environment, and can be extended by external code (XOPs) written in C.
IGOR Pro doesn't require any programming; most functionality is available using standard menus, dialogs, and the mouse.
IGOR Pro runs on Macintosh and Windows computers, and IGOR's data files are cross-platform compatible.

What's new in this version:

Fixed behavior of bessj and bessk at x=0 and negative order for algorithm 2; fixed behavior of bessk at negative orders and x=0.
Fixed edit wave via option (alt) click on polygon draw tool (broken since an early beta of 5.04.)
Fixed incorrect results given by Correlate/C when the length of the input waves wasn't a power of two.
Fixed cause of crashes that occasionally occurred when multiple debugger breakpoints were pointing to the same executable code (for example, a breakpoint on a comment line followed by a breakpoint on the next line of code).

I downloaded the demo version of Igor Pro a few days ago and was so impressed with it that I bought it! My decision was not impulsive, however, as I have researched many products and I use other graphing and analysis programs (S-Plus, Grapher, Gauss, O-Matrix, etc. all of which are top notch). In addition to a truckload of features (too numerous to list) Igor Pro just has a good feel to it.

The program makes it easy to import data and quickly analyze, process, rearrange, visualize, present and use that data. Igor Pro includes a simple, efficient and high level programming language which, in addition to facilitating data processing, allows for simulating data. I have found it to be exceptional.

I heartily recommend Igor Pro.
