Product Description:

Arindal is a new European multiuser online fantasy role playing' game that is being developed for Mac, Windows-PC's, and Linux (as a Java client). Arindal is available in German, Dutch and French. Other European languages should follow later. Due to the license agreements, there will NOT be an English version.

With this multiuser online roleplaying game, all players participate in the same game over the internet, as a healer, mage or fighter in the eternal battle against evil. The world they live in continues to grow through regular updates and the actions, decisions, successes or failures of the inhabitants have an influence on the development of the world. In Arindal, live quests will be run where the players have to solve puzzles and problems and adventure together. Often, these campaigns take just a few hours but sometimes they may last days.

Arindal focuses on friendly and social activities and is no player versus player (PvP) game.

Arindal ReviewGreat community - Version: 53601, 4/3/2008 02:56AM PST

Im playing Arindal for a few years now.
If you look for a great community, friendship, really nice people. Then you are at the right place in Arilon.

When starting you can choose your profession :

1: Fighter: Kill every creature you see. Choose a trainer for extra hit power, longer life, More defense etc etc. Your character is growing each minuut.
Each creature you kill gives you experience. With enough experience you gain a rank from a trainer you choose.

2: Healer: help fallen people, heal up people. Also many trainers to choose, more healing speed, help the more wounded fallens, more body defense etc etc.

3: Mage : if you like to solve puzzles, you must become a mage! in the beginning a long lonely adventure. If you start, better create a fighter to understand the game.

Example how to get a shortsword:
You must work (sometimes hard) for equipment.
for example how to get an shortsword. When you start you have a wooden club to kill creatures. Offcourse you want a short sword as fighter. So you choose your trainer to become a fighter. He gives you a training dagger. With this dagger you must kill creatures. Killing bats gives you so now and then batwings. These batwings can be traded for old iron, old iron can be traded for iron. And with iron you can buy a short sword.
Mostly this can be done alone.

the best things are the quests, and the group hunts. Group hunts are fun. Going with a big group to a dangerous area to KILL extremely strong creatures, or hunting for money. In some cases the group dies completely. And a rescue team must come to help! FUN FUN FUN! In a group you see the power as 1 big community!

If you dont care about the newest 3d graphics and like a community, friendship, kindness. You really should give it a try!

Also take a look on the forum : www.arindal.com/forums.
Many german, but there are english topics :) And Ask around if you want.
We ALL are glad to help you! We really are!

Hope to see you soon in Arilon.

Arindal Reviewif you avoid playing one game in 2008, make it this one - Version: 52301, 12/29/2007 05:23AM PST

i cannot express jst how bad this game is. My experience is that the community is almost all german and usually unwilling to speak American, i am unsure of where all the community interaction is because I certainty did not see any while I played. Maybe it was at the wrong time. too few players, not enough imagination (each area is almost identical), interface is a joke because you fight interact and move by bumping in to things. Calling a game "retro" because it lacks quality or effort to do things properly is not fair or accurate. 70s games looked bad because the computers could not handle much more but this game looks bad because of lazy programmers all this and they want a monthly fee on top of the game cost. this game is of below shareware quality. in a word, avoid

A shiny little gem in the grey mass of MMORPGs out there. Designed in 90's retro-graphics style (be warned: 8bit pixel graphics and 4fps, no matter what high end graphics card you have :-D ) with nonetheless beautifully crafted icons and attention to detail. A very large, complex world to explore with over 400 different kinds of monsters.
Focuses explicitely on team work and playing together, instead of killing each other. The different classes rely on each other to survive or solve quests.
Very nice multilanguage community (German, Dutch, French, English), Mac, Windows, Linux (via wine).
Lots of help for beginners on either the home page, the huge wiki knowledgebase, or the large forum.

Extremely friendly and valueable in-game community which makes it fun to stay and explore the world together.

If you are into PvP-shoot'em-all-up games - go play something else.
