After using ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm for several years I had to look for a another option after an upgrade to Vista. Kaspersky was one of the few available options. I downloaded a trial version because of the good reviews.
It proved to be a good product that offers allround protection whithout too much intrusion on your daily activities. It generally has a 'low profile' and does not seem to stress the system too much: performance is much better than with ZoneAlarm.
