You are in the wrong place my friend. Since you are using a OS X, most software in the windows area will not work for you and you will be giving out one star review like candy. Bad mouthing software that is not supported by your platform is... I am a loss for words. Google earth is not a space agency. There don,t control the satellites that supply the picture. Take it up with NASA and ask them to hurry up with the high resolution mapping of the whole planet. There will never be real time imagery on the web, period. Just cause a software supports another OS, does not mean you have to bash it. If you can afford a Mac, get yourself a PC as a sidekick and google around the earth like I do.

The good:
I tried this on my work computer and it's very cool to play around with, but still has a lot of problems. It renders some buildings in 3D so you can see how it looks in real life. It allows you to save medium resolution screenshots for free. The UI is easy to use, it's reasonably fast, and covers the whole world. Has a fly-to effect when you type in driving directions that is kind of neat.
The bad:
It doesn't have high resolution images for most of the country, just big cities. The addresses also seem to be about 100 feet off. The photos are over two years old, so it is fairly out of date. No indication anywhere on exactly when the photos were taken. Textures of the landscape is limited to only the western parts of the US. Most of the Great Lakes area is very low resolution. Covers driving directions on the roads with a car, but doesn't have an option for "public transportation driving directions" such as bus, subway, or train routes.
The worst part is, this is for Windows XP only, no support for Apple computers at all. If you've got Windows XP it's worth trying out, but until an OS X version is made I really can't recommend downloading it.

In a few minutes, you travel to any part of the globe and zero in on road maps of a chosen town with hotels and restaurants. The ground surface is unbelievably accurate. I have only scratched the surface of this type of program that only Google will put it's name behind.
