Some advantages compared to QuickTime player are the quick and easy install, make an unattended installation or deployment across a large network, no background processes, use a player of your own choice, low on resources, and smaller size.

Why would you want an alternative to the Version that is from the makers of the codec. They have the LATEST updates for the codec because they make it (HELLO). I havent seen any Nags that are bothersome??
