Saved me a lot of times

It has saved me a lot of times. Tried it on three different computers.
The latest one, being a rig with new motherboard, Gfx card with XP 64bit.
I had lost all hope, until I remembered I had Driver Genious.
It saved me by finding the appropriate version for my Realtek Ethernet card, Scsi Drivers, Chipset, and HD Sound Driver. The ones that came with the CD of the motherboad did not work.
Realtek site did not even have the drivers and MSI's Live update is TOTALLY CRAP!!!
Driver Genious to the rescue again.
A real value for money deal here.

The complexity of actually finding the right driver for certain hardware cannot be overcome with an application of this type. Specifically, it found an update for my nVidea geforce go 7600 board. But is the the HP recommended driver, which is different from the WHQL driver, which is different from the driver on the nvidea site, which is different from drivers on softpedia.....
Most of what it found wasn't applicable to my OS and wasn't even a real update, i.e. is recommended the new version if ipoint for my mouse which actually a year older then the version I'm currently running.

OK- I downloaded V.7 - LOOKS better, but it's your money

I tried the FULL version of this program at version 5.3 and found it to be completely useless, and only partially working.
(Clicking on the Download button just opened the program's own disk directory window!!)
Version 6.1 was a bit better, but I will not pay to try to download the non-existant updates that it says it found.
This is now version 7 and it has undergone a major face-lift -
I will not be paying to try the Download section, as it still shows there are updates available that I know are not.
It says that there is an Nvidea NForce for MCP61 v11.9 dated 09/27/2006 - NO!
This would be rather impossible as the driver I am currently using was not released until 01/05/2007 and it is v11.09!
OK, this may be one particular bad example, but I do not think it worth paying $30 to find out!

Most useless program ever -it even asks for money to use it!

I didn't think this scrappy standard of software still existed!
Does not work as advertised, nice idea but completely useless in operation.
Says there are updates when there are none and makes mistakes with version numbers. (Does not even appear to correctly read version of drivers in local computer)
They actually want you to pay to enable the downloads button to get the non-existant downloads!
Avoid this completely! ;<

This is about the LAMEST program I've ever seen.
The scenario is almost always this:
Go to a menu, or the wizard, and select BACK UP DRIVERS in whatever category, it searches for drivers, then you'd just THINK you'd hit the Backup button right? Noooooooo...it consistently tells you "You haven't selected any drivers" even if you hit the checkbox next to the main user name that appears in the window...doing that does absolutely nothing btw...checking the box should mean you want it to do something in that category..but it doesn't.
And even in "wizard" (ha what a joke) mode, you say Backup ALL drivers right...then you hit the backup drivers button...and again it tells you "you haven't selected any drivers to backup" Well DUHHHHHHHHHHH I told it to do ALL of them, how frigging idiotic IS this program?? No wonder noone has reviewed it, they try it once and say this garbage doesn't even WORK.
And I see absolutely NO improvement over the 2005 version I was using...for a little bit anyway, that's why I THOUGHT this version might not be so lame...silly me! Don't bother unless you just want to be frustrated with a completely UN-intuitive interface and commands that do NOT do what you tell them to do and what you EXPECT them to do.
The ONLY thing I got to work on this was the View menu/Update Drivers Manually or Automatically (WOW the View menu is a really good place for a function like that huh?)...at least it listed the drivers...but then, once again, I select backup, and it says I haven't selected anything even if I want to do them all.
Plus it takes toooo long when you do get it to look...and once you're scanning, forget canceling it...it doesn't work! You can't even ctrl-alt-delete out of it...it refuses with a message!
