More than basic digital media programs

This is a crowded category so I really dug in and did research. Many programs out there can burn disks. EMC9 includes dual layer dvds, standalone dvd player, and Blu-ray disks. Not all programs include these formats so it's good to check before buying.
Most programs will also convert to the iPod. EMC9 also includes the Sony PSP and certain types of cellphones. Personally I use the cellphone options so I don't have to carry so many devices. Also you can get some great deals now on media phones. With bluetooth you don't need a physical connector. EMC9 has choices for the amount to compress files. Another way to save space is to edit the video. The included video editors will do just about anything. There is a lot here for a full featured media suite.

Incredibly accessible interface. That's a big definer of this program. I didn't have to have so much knowledge in order to get things done.
Disk authoring: the options and automated steps are outstanding. New formats include blu-ray, set top dvd player, and dual layer. It also has multi disk burning capability. The fastest method is to use the drag and drop icon. Even the menu though is quick. It's a good idea to keep the same type of media on a disk so you get the right format. So if you choose music files the program will default to a stereo disk format. It will also do automatic video file conversion if it's needed.
Photo, Audio, video editing: I found that all basic functions are here. You can make a creative video by using VideoWave. It's timeline mode makes editing very precise. The audio can be cleaned up by a distortion repair tool.
Projects: Again they are fairly automated. Slide shows, albums, collages, cards and so on have step by step guides.

The media editing is again sufficient for most tasks. Since this is a home project program it deals with camcorder footage efficiently. Basic photo tools are provided. Photo projects are here too like photo cards, collages, slide shows. The audio editor has volume recorder controls, fading, distortion elimination, etc. For the techniphiles there are also PSP and phone programs that import/export media. xingtone, a ring tone creator is included.
