Product Description:

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
Beware, VLC doesn't decode .mov files which use a proprietary codec (such as Sorenson v2), so use QuickTime Player for that.

  • Fix subtitle buffer overflow.
  • Fix Real RTSP code execution problem (CVE-2008-0073).
  • Fix cinepak integer overflow.
Various bugfixes:

  • Mozilla plugin registers a usable range of mimetypes on OSX.

Awesome player. For years I would use only Window Media Player, but I always had to download a special driver for DVD type videos and others. This player, VLC players everything. Love it. I replaced all my computers with this player.

Guys, you are doing a great job. I have tried many player and can say that VLC player is simply the simplest and best. It does't have any flashy UI as such, but it plays allmost all kind of media files without hanging and giving any headache to the user. Great job and keep it up.
