Product Description:

Life Balance is coaching software that provides a dynamically ordered To Do List driven by the importance of your goals, your desired allocation of time and effort, and feedback from what you get done each day.

Some of the benefits of using Life Balance that set it apart from most to-do list software are:

  • The Outline keeps home, work and leisure tasks organized.
  • To Do List automatically sorts and filters tasks by importance, deadlines and location.
  • Pie charts provide immediate visual feedback on how you are spending your time and effort.
  • Unique "balance" feature adjusts the order of the To Do List to keep you on track.
  • Dependencies keep later tasks off your To Do List until earlier required tasks are finished.
  • Lead times gently bring your attention to approaching deadlines.
  • Routine tasks can be scheduled either as calendar events or by flexible interval.
  • Importance settings make it easy to reprioritize tasks or entire projects quickly.
  • Macintosh and Windows conduits provide complete two-way synchronization between the Desktop and Mobile editions.

Professional Reviews and Awards

  • Jeff Kirvin in Writing On Your Palm
  • Handango Champion Awards 2004 Finalist for Best Palm OS Productivity application
  • Named one of the Best Productivity Applications of 2001 by Handheld Computing Magazine!

Life Balance helps you to set priorities and increase personal productivity in a new way. Items on a to-do list can have a high priority for different reasons: because they are part of an important project, because the deadline is near-at-hand, because you are in the right place to take action, or because you have been neglecting the task.

What's new in this version:

  • On all platforms, we've added icons that appear in response to the Catch Up, Skip, and Defer Until commands so you can tell that these commands have taken effect. These icons disappear when the to-do list is updated, so you will only see them on Mac and Windows if your to do list is locked. On Palm they always appear.
  • Enhanced the Skip command so that a "once" task that is governed by the schedule of a repeating parent (either routinely or by calendar) can be skipped. In this particular case, the task is checked off without assigning any credit.
  • For Mac and Windows, we've added new Move Up/Down/Left/Right menu items to the Task menu that can be used to rearrange your Outline. On Mac, the keyboard shortcuts for these commands are Control-Command arrow key. On Windows, the shortcuts are Control-Alt arrow key.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows NT
  • Windows 98

Additional Requirements:

  • 96MB RAM
  • 5MB HDD space
  • Requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

Life Balance ReviewLife Balance Rocks! - Version: 3.2.1, 10/14/2003 10:39AM PST

dhammala
Life Balance is G R E A T !
It is not often that you come across a software program that blends so well into your daily life. Life Balance has not only blended in, it has helped shape my life in becoming more productive and efficient!
I have always been bad at prioritizing the tasks on my never-ending to do list. I bought a Palm years ago to help get my life organized, but I found that it was more effort to use it then the post-it notes all over my desk and monitor. The phone book, that was great, the games too! But the to do and calendar just never made it over into daily habit.
Until I found Life Balance. It makes it very easy to add in tasks and things I need to get done – for work, around the house, my self, friends, everything. It makes it even easier to prioritize.. in fact I have never seen a system like this! All you have to do is say how important something is. You can even schedule events that need to happen BY a certain date/time or ON a certain date/time and be reminded that the deadline is coming up. It’s great! The best part is that I don’t have to think about what I need to be doing RIGHT NOW. Silly, but that is where I would always go wrong, again with my prioritizing. Life Balance is so cool, I just hit my To Do button my Palm and Life Balance TELLS ME what to do next! I love it! It couldn’t be easier. (Of course I have the option of doing what I want to do next, and Life Balance can handle that too.)
The best part is the effect it has had on my personal life. I have not had the time or the ability to create time for my friends and social life because I have been swamped with work and too stressed to prioritize well. My friends call up and complain that I never see them or talk to them on the phone any more, etc. It has been really depressing to me and I have not known what to do about it. Life Balance saved the day! I put in things like ‘Call Monica’ or ‘Dinner with Eric’ and Life Balance shows me quickly how well I am balancing out my time and reminding me to take time to spend with my friends and such. It rocks!
The new desktop version makes it even easier to enter in information and things on the list to do. 10 stars!
