Folder Lock ReviewWorks for me...I even tried to purposely screw it up! - Version: 5.7.9, 11/10/2007 10:26PM PST

I am getting old. I can't remember things the way I used to, and that includes passwords. My job requires that I keep a careful record of and protect sensitive passwords and other information. I decided to store this sensitive information on a common flash drive. I wanted a way to secure the information in case my flash drive was lost or stolen. I decided to give Folder Lock 5.7.9 a go. This was the first time I had purchased software on the Internet. I used PayPal to pay for it. After I paid, I got an email with a link to download the full official version. I downloaded and registered it. I immediately made a backup copy of my Folder Lock program and stored it on CD. Folder Lock 5.7.9 allows the user to move its program files to any drive, which includes flash drives. I did and stored some files on it. Sure enough, when I locked the software, the "Locker" folder where my personal files were stored disappeared and was undetectable. I was worried that someone could delete my files from my flash drive. So I purposely deleted ALL of the Folder Lock program files from my flash drive to see if I could damage my encrypted files. Well, I caused some damage all right. I could no longer access Folder Lock on my flash drive. That is until I copied the Folder Lock program files from my PC back onto my flash drive. Amazingly, the Folder Lock program immediately worked on my flash drive and I was able to open the "Locker" folder and my files were all there and completely intact! Folder Lock 5.7.9 encrypts the "Locker" folder containing your personal files so that windows cannot even detect its presence. I'm not sure what others are whining about regarding its performance. It works flawlessly. Just don't forget your Folder Lock password or you will find out the hard way just how well it works!

Folder Lock ReviewDoes what it says. - Version: 5.7.5, 5/22/2007 03:24PM PST

I have been using this product for quite some time without any problems. Not being a computer wizard, I have no idea if this is really safe, but even before I read anything about the product I knew enough to make a backup or two and to keep doing it. I do miss the feature in earlier programs that would automatically back up when I shut down the computer. After reading about some of the problems others have had, I guess it is not perfect and I no longer throw my computer in the campfire to make sure no one can read my data.

Hi! I use that product nearly a year.It was great ,never had problem with Fast Lock method. Then last time i tried to lock with Encryption method. All the the structure of my directories is there , but they are all empty.
Try to recover with recovery software .I can see them in thumbnail but cannot open those fotos.
Just so bad and so sad to lose all the precious memories from family when we believed that they certainly well protected.
Some advices to recover them back will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Folder Lock CommentaryStay a hell out of this product! - Version: 5.3.5, 8/7/2006 11:47AM PST

This software is full of security holes. I kept important files locked behind this peace of shit program and it only took one malicious worm to corrupt the .exe file and all my secured data which I thought were in good protection were lost! What does it say about this product that the *only* file that worm hit was folder lock.exe? I'll never buy anything from the makers of this unreliable crap!
