Product Description:

Avant Browser is a fast, stable, user-friendly, versatile multi-window browser. Avant Browser allows user to browse multiple Web sites simultaneously and block all unwanted pop-up pages and FLASH ads automatically.

The integrated cleaner helps user to clear all traces and keep privacy. Built-in Google search engine enables user to search for web pages, images, groups, directory, lyrics, software and news in the Internet. Avant Browser provides options to block download of Flashes, pictures, videos, sounds, and ActiveX components. With these options users can efficiently use their bandwidth and speed up page loading. All opened pages can be easily stopped, refreshed, closed, or arranged with one click.

What's new in this version:

  • Removed the yellow background in the Address Bar drop download list while you're inputting urls.
  • Added the search function to the Address Bar drop down list.
  • Added the feature rearranging the items in Tab Context Menu according to the Tabs Bar position.
  • Fixed the blank Bookmarks Bar issue under IE8.
  • Fixed the bug that sometimes caused the system to beep while you're pressing Enter in Address Bar.

It still uses the IE engine, and isn't as secure as some other alternateives. Also, I don't personally care for the "tab-only" browsing model - I want both tabs AND windows.

Best browser - Mozilla Firefox. The name changed again, but it is still the best browser out there.

This is almost just like the default browser for Macintosh, Safari. The only thing Safari does better is the way Favorites work. If this browser had its favorites work the same as Safari, I'd give it an extra star.
