We found that many output programs were not supported by Dynastrip. If you are using only Quark Xpress, then you'll not have a problem. But if you routinely output jobs from such programs as CorelDraw or InDesign, you'll find severe limitations. When we bought the program, we complained that there was no support for CorelDraw 10, and at that time CorelDraw 11 was on the way. We were promised a filter for CorelDraw 11. However, CorelDraw 12 has now been released and we're still waiting for a filter for 11!!!
Dynagram do not stay ahead of the game providing filters for new versions of major programs. For instance, InDesign 3.0.1 has been out for months now, but still there is no filter (there is one for 3.0 but not for 3.0.1). Therefore we have to find workarounds every time we want to impose jobs coming from InDesign 3.0.1. This ought not to be. Some improvements have been made since we complained, but this program is, in our view, still lacking.
Download the demo and check very carefully to make sure this program will do everything you need it to do before forking over the $4,000 or so that it costs. Also, check out the support options very carefully.
