Product Description:

PolaColor Insight Pro Version 5.5.1 software is an image capture and editing utility. It is designed for use only with the following Polaroid SprintScan models:

SprintScan 45 Ultra
SprintScan 4000
SprintScan 4000 Plus
SprintScan 120

What's new in this version:

Support added for the SprintScan 4000 Plus scanner - This scanner features Firewire (IEEE 1394) or USB connections and offers a color bit depth of 14-bits per channel.
SprintScan 120 Interframe gap support - On the Preview tab, a new Media type now allows you to preview an entire 6 x 24 cm, medium format film strip. This selection provides greater flexibility in finding and cropping all medium format film sizes. Note: In this version of the software, you are still limited to scanning a maximum length of 9 cm. Glass holder support � Support has been added for the SprintScan 120 optional scientific glass filmholder accessory. Note: You must also update the scanner Firmware before using the filmholder. Resampling - If you scan at less than the scanner's optical resolution, you can now select an interpolation method, which will let you produce a higher quality low resolution scan. You can choose Nearest Neighbor, Bicubic or Mixed Mode resampling.
New Film Profiles
- New SprintScan 120 Negative Film Profiles to be used with any scenes that cover a large dynamic range:
- Kodak Portra NC 160 (�extended range�)
- Kodak Portra VC 160 (�extended range�)
- Fuji NPS 160 (�extended range�)
- Fuji NPC 400 (�extended range�)
- All color slide film profiles improved to provide cleaner images and more accurate color.
- Additional Preferences - A new Preference allows you to turn off rotation on final scans. This can speed up the processing of large images. Edit menu > Preferences > Scan tab.
Support for SprintScan 45 Ultra Glass Filmholder accessory - SprintScan 45 Ultra users who purchase the optional scientific glass filmholder accessory. Note: You must also update the scanner Firmware before using the filmholder. The new Firmware is included with the software. PolaColor Insight Fixes - PolaColor Insight Pro version 5.5.1 for Windows fixes a context sensitive help problem found in version 5.5. In version 5.5 if you right clicked on any button in PolaColor Insight Pro it would cause the program to crash. This problem has been fixed in this new version.

Additional Requirements:

Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
An IBM PC or compatible with a Pentium processor and 128 MB (megabytes) of RAM. (RAM equal to twice the typical image file size is recommended.)
20 MB of free hard disk space to install the program.
For scanning, you should have free hard disk space equal to 3 or 4 times the image size. Example: To scan a 100 MB image, you should have 300-400 MB available.
For SprintScan SCSI scanners, an ASPI-compliant SCSI adapter with the appropriate Windows drivers. Requires Microsoft Windows 98, 98SE, Me, or 2000.
For SprintScan Firewire scanners (SprintScan 120 and SprintScan 4000 Plus), an IEEE 1394 (Firewire interface). Requires Microsoft Windows Me or 2000.
For SprintScan USB scanners (SprintScan 4000 Plus), a USB adapter. Note: USB is built into most new computers. USB is the slowest connection option. You will scan faster if the scanner is connected using either a SCSI or Firewire interface.
A video adapter capable of displaying 24-bit color (16.7 million colors) is recommended for optimal display of scanned pictures.
Note: PolaColor Insight Pro software runs on systems with adapters and monitors with less color capability, but pictures displayed on the monitor may not be satisfactory.
