Adobe Dreamweaver ReviewWeave your dreams with Dreamweaver - Version: 8.0.2, 8/4/2006 01:32PM PST

When I read this blurb - or something very similar - for Dreamweaver version 1 (I kid you not), I wondered... Skeptical as ever... Since then I've not looked back, and Dreamweaver 8 keeps up the tradition of this solid and dependable development program. CSS? A dare not touch it until Dreamweaver 8 - now I relish the challenge.

All in all a SUPERB piece of software.

I've been using Dreamweaver and Fireworks for a few years now. Some bugs keep getting replicated through each version, but I'm used to them. Dreamweaver MX2004 is the most buggy, worst product version I have experienced. I don't recommend buying this or upgrading until Macromedia takes significant steps to clean up the program.

They introduced a licensing program that runs in the background. Because it's new, I'm not sure if this has something to do with the problems.

1. Crashes on sitewide template changes (randomly)
2. Crashes on library changes (randomly)
3. Inserting an image and finding it's name by typing it in: When Dreamweaver helps autocomplete the name, selecting that name inserts a broken image every time.
4. Roundtripping doesn't work between Fireworks and Dreamweaver correctly anymore. Fireworks randomly produces an "internal file error" message.
5. Fireworks routinely corrupts simple rollover behaviors.
6. Roundtripping an image between Fireworks and Dreamweaver eventually causes images not to display in the dreamweaver design view.
7. Selecting multiple cells in a complex table occationally crashes Dreamweaver
8. Selecting a cell to replace copy in Dreamweaver often displays gigantic black select box lines.
