Product Description:

Oratrix's GRiNS Player for SMIL 2.0 is the first public release of a full implementation of the new SMIL 2.0 Standard as set by the W3C. The GRiNS Player for SMIL 2.0, which has been tested by thousands of developers world-wide, gives you access to all of the SMIL 2.0 Language profile features, plus extensions that allow migration of examples with SVG and Microsoft's XHTML+SMIL (HTML+Time) implementations.

What's new in this version:

  • The player can play back RealMedia format files (RealVideo, RealAudio, RealPix, RealText) if the RealPlayer is installed
  • The player can always playback a subset of QuickTime media items. If you have QuickTime for Windows installed the player will detect this and play back a richer set of QuickTime media items
  • Mime type handling is more precise
  • The SMIL execution engine has been brought up to spec with respect to the final SMIL 2.0 standard. Moreover, many minor bugs have been fixed, especially in the areas of pausing in excl nodes, hyperlinking and transitions
  • The source view window would not always open correctly this has been fixed
  • Improvements to the hyperlinking code
  • Support for embedded HTML documents (i.e. you can use HTML documents as media objects)
  • The readIndex attribute is now recognized
