After being burned badly by Zonealarm Pro I was suspicious of this but my suspicions were unfounded. This is a well sorted professional bit of software. The default settings are good enough to get you going without having to know an alphabet soup of acroyms & is easy enough to tweak thereafter.

I don't agre you have to be too knowledgeable to use it.

It works very well & without the nonsense of ZA.
I highly recommend this.

This firewall is HARDCORE! Beware, if you know little about networking and how it works this firewall is not for you. On the contrary, if you know -- this piece of software is very powerfull. Low CPU usage, quick startup time, possibility for insanely complex rules make it a must have. If you're looking for IPtables for windows...here you are ;-)

The connection dialog alone makes Outpost Firewall Pro worth having, but its solid, fast performance, and great interface make it worth having. The user interface is very well designed, offering some of the most flexible customization and configuration rules of any firewall, and its security is top notch. Expect to spend a little time learning how to configure it securely; Outpost does not come configured perfectly out of the box (you'll find some guides available in the Agnitum Forum). And do be sure to install the trial version available from the Agnitum web site before you buy it until you confirm that it runs properly on your computer. You will thank yourself for having it.
