I tried using both Windows Live and Skype for making video+voice PC to PC calls. I think Windows Live provide much bettern video and voice compared to Skype. Video calls within the US and Canada had been reliable and good quality.

Tip: Minimize ads and network use while making video+voice call in order to get good bandwidth for the call.

I have no problems with the connections within the USA sound and pictures go through.
When I contact France , I get only the picture but I do not get the sound from france. On the other hand they get picture and sound fine. My daughter who is also in the USA has the same problem.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

I realise it's not hugely important, but it frustrates me that I can't see smilies. Even the default msn ones don't show on my conversation screen. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything I can do about it?

I had the lastest version of msn messenger, but it started playing up, it was extremely slow to type in sign in name and then would not sign in, i un-installed it and downloaded the windows live messenger v. 8.0792 and have the same problem. What has happened?

First I love the features, at least in my minds eye because I can't log in with any consistent luck. From time to time I will open the old messenger and there it is boring but dependable.
When 7.0 works and logs on its great, but it is otherwise useless.

When i go to instant message dialog then i can,t see the packs button. When i first time installed msn it was there. But now not. I tried everything, reinstalling and repairing, downloading new msn messengers, creating new accounts and lord knows what else but NOPE! Please help me.
