Product Description:

Utility to create, edit and manipulate Compix VideoCG Version 3.0 files.

What's new in this version:

Compile: This takes a text file in a specific user-friendly format and generates a .vcg file from it. (Files with the .vcg extension are what the Compix VideoCG Version 3.0 program uses, so these are directly displayable on all our CG's)
Decompile: This takes a .vcg file, and extracts several different forms of text from it. The default form is in the same language that CGX expects as input to a compile
Make Macro: This takes a single page of a .vcg file, and produces a text macro. A macro is a template-like form from which other CG pages can be quickly generated having the identical layout, but different words
Parade: This is currently customized for the Rosefest, Slice, Little Canada, New Brighton, and most recently Saint Anthony parades, but can be generalized with additional macros for others. It takes a simple text list of parade units, and generates the complete .vcg files. It also generates the spotter list in printer-ready format
Horse: This is a similar feature for the horse show. I get a simple .txt file from the Show Office a few hours before the event, and the program generates all the CG pages complete with transitions
Election: This is what we use each November. It takes a text file that has been dumped from an Excel spreadsheet (of a particular format), and generates three .vcg files - one full screen, one for the continuous display behind the compressed window, and one for overnight running
Preview: This is a new capability added recently. It displays the pages of a .vcg file in its window just as if VideoCG were doing it. This allows users to view the results of their compilations or existing vcg files on any PC computer without having to find an open CG somewhere at CTV
