Product Description:

Ray Gun Automatically cleans up noisy vinyl and tape recordings and has been designed especially for easy and efficient audio archiving and restoration. All you have to do is point, aim and shoot to remove hum, hiss, pops, clicks and other unwanted audio, leaving your original sound intact. Ray Gun will search-and-destroy noise automatically. Use Ray Gun's simple controls to fine-tune the results, then process your new noise-free file. Combining sophisticated pop and click detection with complex spectral analysis, downward expansion, notch filtering and an intelligent "search" function, Ray Gun is like a sci-fi device: small, fast, fun to use and packed with devastating technology.

What's new in this version:

  • In the new Ray Gun 2.0 for DirectX, the addition of an enhancement module now allows post-noise reduction bass and treble enhancement and stereo separation. These simple yet powerful controls will let you fine-tune the results before you process your new noise-free file. Pull out the Ray Gun for fixing staticky telephone recordings, reducing background noise from dialog, even getting rid of pesky “line noise.” Make your old recordings sound more stereo-like and experiment on clean sounds for minute to drastic adjustments
  • NOTE: This is an upgrade for the plug-in *only* and as such requires an independent DirectX compatibile audio host (such as Sound Forge or Cool Edit Pro) to run
  • Although the enhancement module is not yet included in the stand-alone 1.3.5 version which ships with the plug-in, this version has been improved with important bug fixes in the recording functionality and users can now choose the location of temporary files created in recording and processing
  • Previous Ray Gun users can upgrade to the new DirectX 2.0 version and improved Stand-alone 1.3.5 for $19.95.
