Metadefender ClamAV SDK provides application developers with an easy way to integrate ClamAV AntiVirus detection engine into their applications to perform real time virus scanning. Metadefender ClamAV SDK uses the native port of Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV).

Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) is an open source antivirus toolkit for UNIX distributed under the GPL and specifically designed to scan e-mail passing through e-mail gateways. A number of utilities are included into Clam AntiVirus, such as a flexible and scalable multithreaded daemon, a command line scanner, and advanced automatic database update tool. The core of the ClamAV package is an antivirus engine available as a shared library.

feature: The interface to MDCore.dll from C/C++ is now open.
feature: Functions for configuring AntiVirus engines without using an ini file have been added.
improved: The system installation software has been modified. Engines are installed to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\mdefender\ and the log, quarantine, temp folders are also created there.
improved: The SDK can be installed and run under the Limited Windows user account.
improved: Log messages have been extended.
improved: Now ClamAV engine 0.94rc1 is supported.
improved: Now Avast! engine 4.8 is supported.
improved: Now VirusBuster engine 4.5.11 is supported.
improved: Documentation is changed.
bugfix: The bug causing an error during installation in Windows Vista/2008 has been fixed.
bugfix: The bug of the connector to the ClamAV antivirus has been fixed.
bugfix: The bug of Updater for the Quick Heal antivirus has been fixed.
