Which is not to say that StuffIt is perfect. But there just isn't anything else out there that's close. JPEG compression alone has freed up 20% of my HD (ok, I do have a lot of photos). But zip files always seem to get corrupted when I email them, and sitx files never do. Or at least they haven't yet.
