New features are massive but as a overall this gets u to sit back 4.0 power pack suite is still my favorite.

ACD is moving forward with new versions but does not solve the problems. Since version 7 the software is buggy and crashes often, especially when you switch from single photo to directory view.
It always often staying as a unfunctional task and takes memory.
stick to 5 if you can...

great program, but...
I got known to it by version 5 and found it really great and stable to use. At that time I could only buy the newer version 6.0.2. - what a pity that there are so many bugs in this version (example: if you draw image files in a subfolder in the same folder frame (one of the most frequently needed actions), you may just go and drink a good cup of tea). Updating to a newer 6 caused my xp to crash frequently. Now I stick to 6.0.2 with the workarounds I found and _thinking_ about buying 7.

New ACDSee will NOT read embedded JPG thumbnails in Freehand11 files, nor is there a PS/EPS plugin for v6.0 - so no thumbs for EPS or PDF files! ACDSee v5.0 was great, v6.0 has lost some thumnail preview capability! We contacted ACD Systems. They said JPG decoding has been changed in new version. We're sticking to version 5.0!
Really good image…

browser! Version 4 brings other goodies like fotovac, a newsgroup image downloader. This is the best program of its kind around but misses getting the big 5 stars for some of the features it is missing..Like Compupics burning of a slide show to CD and Epsons Film Factory great photo sizing to print-outs.
