Wacom Tablet Drivers ReviewGood But... - Version: 4.56-4, 10/30/2003 07:56AM PST

I actually got 4.56-10 on the driver CD when i bought a Graphire 3XL, but it looks and acts exactly the same as this 4.56-4 version available to download. The Graphire 3 is excellent, but the driver is lacking the one feature that i think is necessary to make a tablet perfect for everyone, that is the ability to have the buttons and eraser programmable per application.

I am not a designer, and i understand that the Graphire is not specifically aimed at me, but its such a shame that the eraser is unusable unless support for it is built into the app you are using (like photoshop/painter etc...).

Just a few cues taken from USB Overdrive could make the Graphire and its driver essential for anyone sick of missing the mark with a mouse.

One last thing which is nothing to do with the driver... It was a shame that I had to pay for all the bundled software with the Graphire 3XL just because I wanted the larger tablet, but im sure that was a conscious decision made by Wacom.

All in all, the Graphire 3 is quality and I urge everyone to have a go, even if you dont plan to/can't draw pictures...
