RealVNC Reviewlooks like the free version stopped at 4.1.1 - Version: 4.1.3, 12/30/2005 04:53PM PST

from then on they are all shareware ... there are plenty of free vnc programs out there so this makes this one start to pale in comparison. :/

RealVNC CommentaryLink to wrong version - Version: 4.1.1, 8/27/2005 06:07PM PST

Although there is a free version of RealVNC 4.1.1, the link provided above (as of today) is the "Personal" version that requires payment for the server. More importantly, the Personal version includes encryption of the data streams, which the free version does not.

The download link for all three versions (free, Personal & Enterprise) is:

RealVNC CommentaryNot freeware! - Version: 4.1.1, 4/14/2005 07:04AM PST

A Nony Mouse
This is listed incorrectly. It is not freeware. Only the viewer is free. The host is not- that's $30USD. Please be more specific when posting here.

any Windows/XX, Macintosh or UNIX machine, and the machine becomes easily accessible simply by running VNCviewer application from anywhere else (no installation required for viewer!). There are mechanisms to compress screen data for use with modems (Screen depth reduction, update on window event)
